Official: Carlo Ancelotti named as new Real Madrid coach

Former PSG boss will be replaced by Blanc in the French capital.
Real Madrid have officially announced the appointment of Carlo Ancelotti as their new coach, following the news that Laurent Blanc will replace him at PSG.
The Italian tactician has been linked with a switch to the Spanish capital all summer, and has finally had his move confirmed on the club’s official website, signing a three-year deal and will be presented to the media on Wednesday.
The former AC Milan boss is described as bringing “experience, success and reliability” to the Bernabeu, after successfully guiding all of his previous clubs to success during his stints in charge.
He leaves Ligue 1 having won the title with PSG, and just minutes after Ancelotti’s confirmation, the French champions released a statement confirming that Blanc would be his successor.
The 54-year-old has won 2 Champions League trophies, two European Super Cups, league titles in Italy, England and France and a whole host of other silverware in a glittering managerial career.
It has been no secret that Madrid had pinpointed him as the ideal successor to Jose Mourinho, who departed earlier this month to seal a return to Chelsea.
Nevertheless, Ancelotti will hope to now lead Los Blancos into a new era of success, but will have the unenviable task of attempting to break Barcelona’s stranglehold on domestic honours.
Speculation suggests that transfers are already in motion, with Isco, Stephan El Shaarawy and Gareth Bale all linked with moves to the Bernabeu.
However, having won all that there is to win in the club game, Ancelotti will be looking forward to a new exciting project in Spain and will look to stamp his authority and personality on his new squad immediately.
